Day 1: Brive
Arrival in Corrèze late morning/early afternoon
Discover the Ardoisières de Corrèze. On site, a slate quarryman will show you the ancestral techniques used to transform stone into slate.
In Brive, visit the Denoix distillery, where liqueurs and aperitifs have been made for 180 years.
Dinner and overnight in Brive
Day 2: Corrèze – Its MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN FRANCE
A day with a local guide to discover some of Corrèze’s most beautiful villages.
Discover Curemonte, a medieval village built on a rocky outcrop. Tasting of jams and aperitifs at a small farm nearby.
Visit to Collonges la Rouge, an unusual sight with its flamboyant stonework and rich heritage.
Finally, discover Turenne, a medieval town dotted with ancient mansions (on foot or aboard the little Vicomté train, depending on your preference).
Dinner and overnight in Brive.
Day 3: Tulle – Sarran – Gimel
Drive to Tulle and visit the city of accordions and heritage, the only one in France to produce and manufacture all the parts making up the instrument.
Drive to the Musée du Président Jacques Chirac in Sarran.
Visit the museum, which displays the gifts received by the President of the Republic in the exercise of his duties.
On the way back, visit the Gimel waterfalls, one of the most beautiful natural sites in Corrèze.
Dinner and overnight in Brive.
Day 4: FROM CORREZE TO PERIGORD
Drive to Cuzance. Visit to the truffle farm, including a tour of the truffle plantation, a demonstration of cavage… and a tasting!
Drive to Rocamadour. Guided tour of the sanctuary and its seven chapels. Meet the Black Madonna and stroll through the ruelle de la Mercerie.
Arrival in Sarlat la Canéda at the end of the day; stroll through the old town.
Dinner and overnight in Sarlat.
Day 5: Dordogne Valley
Day trip with a local guide to discover the Dordogne valley. Visit of either Château de Beynac or Château de Castelnaud.
Late morning arrival at La Roque Gageac.
Ride on the Dordogne on an authentic reproduction of an 18th-century gabare, an original way to discover nature and its flora and fauna.
Visit the Bastide town of Domme, with its unique architectural heritage, including the ramparts and the Porte des Tours.
Finally, visit the Turnac Farm and discover the secrets of foie gras production.
Dinner and overnight in Sarlat.
Day 6: Lascaux & Prehistory
Drive to Montignac and visit Lascaux IV, a complete replica of the famous cave. Visit the astonishing Roque Saint Christophe. This veritable limestone wall, one kilometer long and 80 meters high, has been hollowed out by hundreds of rock shelters occupied by man since prehistoric times.
Dinner and overnight in Sarlat.
Day 7: Sarlat and Departure
Last morning in Sarlat-la-Canéda, during which you will explore the town in a fun-filled discovery rally.
