Detailed program
Day 1: Paris – Rouen
Arrival in Paris. Drive to Rouen.
Guided tour of the old town and cathedral.
Dinner and overnight in Rouen.
Day 2: Rouen – Saint-Malo
Drive to Normandy. Visit to a cheese factory and tasting of the famous “Camembert” cheese.
Visit to a Calvados distillery and tasting session, then on to Saint-Malo.
Dinner in a crêperie and accommodation in Saint-Malo.
Day 3: Saint-Malo – Mont Saint Michel
Drive to Mont Saint Michel. Visit the village and abbey. Built over 1300 years on an inhospitable site, the abbey represents an undeniable technical and artistic feat. Afternoon transfer to Dinan. Stroll along the ramparts and through the medieval streets.
Dinner and overnight in Saint-Malo.
Day 4: Saint-Malo – Morlaix
Take a deep breath of fresh air at Cap Fréhel. Walk along the coast to Fort La Latte and visit the Fort.
Discover the astonishing Pink Granite Coast and the rocks of Ploumanac’h.
Dinner and overnight in Morlaix or Carantec.
Day 5: Morlaix – Quimper
Drive to the south of Brittany. Stop at the Guilmiliau parish enclosure.
Discover Pointe de Penhir and the pretty town of Camaret-sur-Mer.
Afternoon drive to Quimper. Stop en route at Locronan, one of France’s most beautiful villages. Visit the church and Chapelle du Pénity.
Dinner and overnight in Quimper.
Day 6: Quimper – Carnac – Vannes
Stroll through the streets of Pont-Aven, city of painters, then drive to Carnac.
Guided tour of one of the megalithic sites by a local guide.
Transfer to Vannes. Stop en route at the pretty port of Saint Goustan in Auray.
Dinner and overnight in Vannes.
Day 7: Vannes – Guérande
Stroll through the streets of Rochefort-en-Terre, one of France’s most beautiful villages.
Arrive in Guérande in the late morning. Visit the salt marshes in the company of a salt worker.
Dinner and overnight stay in Guérande or nearby.
Day 8: Guérande – Angers – Amboise
Continuation to Angers and visit the castle housing the famous 14th-century “Tapestry of the Apocalypse”.
Drive to the Saumur region.
Typical lunch in a troglodyte restaurant, followed by a visit to the galleries used for mushroom cultivation.
Sail on the Loire to discover its flora and fauna.
Transfer to Amboise.
Dinner in a medieval restaurant and accommodation in Amboise.
Day 9: Amboise – Chartres
Visit Chenonceau château (audio tour), then stroll through the gardens.
In the afternoon, visit the Château de Chambord. Rent bicycles or electric carts to visit the park.
Dinner and overnight in Chartres.
Day 10: Chartres – Paris
Guided tour of the cathedral, followed by transfer to Paris. Luggage drop-off at the hotel.
Metro ride around Paris, exploring the Champs-Élysées, Place de la Concorde and Tuileries.
Farewell dinner in a Parisian brasserie and accommodation in Paris.
Day 11: Departure
Transfer back to the airport or to your region.
