Day 1: La Rochelle
Arrival in La Rochelle late morning or early afternoon .
Visit of your choice:
- The Tours Saint-Nicolas, de la Chaîne and de la Lanterne: symbols of the city facing the Atlantic, they are the remains of a major program of fortifications built from 1199 onwards.
- The Bunker: the headquarters of U-Boote officers during the Second World War, it was built in the heart of the city in the greatest secrecy in 1941. A surprising visit!
Walking tour of the town.
Dinner and overnight in La Rochelle.
Day 2: Ile de Ré
Drive to the Ile de Ré and discover some of its culinary delights. Meet a salt-marsh farmer and take a guided tour of the salt marshes.
Then visit an aquaculture farm where the farmers will share their know-how and knowledge of shellfish breeding and maturing, and the production of sea lettuce and samphire.
Initiation to fishing on foot (timetable according to tide times).
At the end of the day, discovery of the “whale lighthouse”.
This evening, a table has been reserved for you at one of La Rochelle’s most emblematic addresses to enjoy a succulent seafood platter!

Day 3: Venise verte
Journey to the “Venise Verte”.
2-hour canoe trip along the canals of the Marais Mouillé in Coulon (treasure hunt with optional logbook: +11€ / canoe).
Visit Maillezais Abbey and its 3D experience.
Dinner and overnight in La Rochelle.
Day 4: Cognac – Saintes
Morning in Cognac. Visit to a traditional cooperage, followed by an introduction to distillation, a tour of Cognac and Pineau cellars and closed with a tasting.
Continuation to Saintes. Guided tour with a choice of themes: Roman and Romanesque Saintes, walking tour of the main monuments…
Dinner and overnight in La Rochelle.
Day 5: Futuroscope
Journey to Poitiers.
