Detailed program
Day 1: Perpignan
You arrive in Perpignan in the late morning. You’ll then embark on a guided tour of the medieval heart of the city, with its narrow streets and historic monuments. The day ends with an introduction to chocolate tasting at a local chocolate factory.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and spend the night in accommodation between Narbonne and Carcassonne.
Day 2: Carcassonne
Visit the famous medieval city of Carcassonne, with its ramparts and impressive towers. You then have free time to wander around the old walled town at your own pace.
Dinner and overnight in the same area, between Narbonne and Carcassonne.
Day 3: Lézignan – Lastours – Cabrespine
Discover the local market in Lézignan and visit the church of Saint Félix. At the end of the morning, you drive to Lastours. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the four medieval castles of Lastours, perched on a rocky promontory. The tour ends with a visit to the spectacular Gouffre de Cabrespine, an impressive natural underground site.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and spend the night between Narbonne and Carcassonne.
Day 4: Fontfroide – Narbonne
You visit Fontfroide Abbey with a guide, then take a 30-minute walk along a path that leads to the Croix de Fontfroide, at the top of the surrounding massif. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Narbonne, where you’ll enjoy a free tour of the town. At the end of the day, relax on the beach at Narbonne-Plage.
Dinner and overnight in the same area.
Day 5: Peyrepertuse – Departure
You’ll visit the Château de Peyrepertuse, an imposing Cathar fortress offering magnificent panoramic views. Then on to the medieval village of Duilhac, famous for its historic center known as “le Fort”. In the late morning or early afternoon, you’ll take the road back to your region.
